Healthy hair habits!

Wanting your hair to be model ready? Well do I have some tips for you!
I may not have the longest hair, but my hair is actually in great condition! Super strong and super shiny! (See Above)
~Pardon my uneven hair, it used to be a cute haircut, but it's grown out now~

1. Brush your hair at least 3 times a day! For my hair, I use a Balmain brush for extensions, but it has a lot of bristles that helps the circulation of your follicles. This helps your hair grow! Highly recommended.

2. When washing your hair, shampoo your hair every other shower. When you do shampoo, do it twice. Shampoo #1 helps get rid of the residue, like dirt and dead skin cells, and for shampoo #2 1really massage and rub your scalp. I massage my head with shampoo for a couple minutes at least. Again, this helps with circulation! When you condition, I recommend reading the bottle because most have a time frame you're suppose to leave it in that most people don't even know about. And, a little trick to make your hair super soft and silky, wash your hair at the beginning of your shower and then leave your conditioner in while you do whatever else you need to do in the shower so that the last thing your do is rinse out your conditioner. If your hair gets weighed down easily, I wouldn't recommend that, but if it doesn't (like mine!) I highly recommend it!

3. Wide tooth comb only. While hair is wet. DO NOT brush it. Really, just don't. It rips your hair out! Your hair is like a really thin, delicate rubber band when it's wet so you're basically snapping that rubber band right off when you brush it wet without the proper tools!

4. Deep condition. Regularly. I'll have a video or post coming soon about the best things to put in it, but it's pretty simple. All you really have to do is mix conditioner, maybe some kind of oils- like Moroccan oil, coconut oil, whatever- anything hydrating. Maybe even multiple conditioners. Just mix all of that together, slather it on your head, put a shower cap on and leave it. To make it have even more of an effect, use a hairdryer to make it warm up, let it cool and then rinse it out. Do this once a week for super shiny hair!

5. This may be obvious but it's always good to repeat multiple times- Heat. Use it as little as possibly. Rock your natural hair for a while. Heat obviously causes so much breakage. Throughout high school, I straightened my hair literally almost every single day. Since I got into college, I straightened my hair maybe twice. My hair feels SO much better. (Plus it helps that I do all of the previously mentioned too)

Finally, a self tanner you can wear

Okay, so my natural skin tone is super pale, and I hate it. I love the summer because I get a little color, but not much. I have tried dozens of self tanning products since I was in middle school. I used to be super streaky because I didn't prepare for my self tanning correctly and I didn't use great products. Now that I'm older, I have learned a lot. I've watched countless YouTube videos about routines and products from beauty blogger. Recently, I started trying these products.

Preparation:
I took a shower and used my dove soap to wash my skin first, so it's at least clean. Then, I used my homemade orange scrub to exfoliate my skin. This helps get rid of the dead skin cells that accumulate. I have super sensitive skin, so I can only use my scrub every couple of showers. But it's orange and it smells so good! Then, I wash my body again because my scrub leaves my skin a tad oily. After I wash my body again, I shave my legs and continue with my shower. When I get out, I lotion my body with my special Emu Oil Lotion (locally made) for sensitive skin. Now, I'm ready to tan!

I didn't want to start with anything permanent to avoid super long lasting ugly streaks, so I got the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. It comes off in the shower with soap and water, so no more streaks!
When I would self tan, my fingers would be bright orange after! My cuticle, the creases between my fingers, everything. Or, my tan would stop at my wrist and my hands would be super white! Not cute.

SO, I read some amazing reviews about using the tanning mitt. I got it for Christmas from St. Tropez. I got to say, it is awesome. Not only did my hands not get too orange, but i was able to use the mitt to gently put product on my hands so they gradually got whiter, instead of a harsh line. I was able to spray the Sally Hansen right onto the glove which worked better for me than spraying the product onto my skin and rubbing it in. I only did from my waist up, and it looks SO GOOD. I'm tan!!!

Now for my face, my skin is also very sensitive. I lightly exfoliated it while in the shower and then washed it with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne wash. Then, I used the Bonne Bell Gel Bronze for my face. I've read that this is good to use on your face because it is lightweight and not greasy. It's so great! I am tan and it looks amazing(:

Crimes and Cities

Okay, so for Christmas, I got these matte lipsticks and I'm actually pretty satisfied with how they've been turning out.
I've been following Doe Deere and Lime Crime on Instagram for so long, but have never gotten anything from there because I'm a fabulous broke girl. I've seen and heard very good reviews about Lime Crime's makeup, so I'm glad I can finally experience it myself. I got the Red Velvet Velvetine Lip Gloss and it is absolutely awesome. I put it on this morning and have only had to retouch it once. It goes on wet and then dries so it's matte! It literally reminds me of smooth velvet.
The NYX colors are great. I was expecting a consistency similar to the Lime Crime one, but it was more of a paste. It's hard to get out of the tube, but the color goes on nice and stays for a while. I'd keep this one in your purse for occasional touch ups. The colors shown here are Monte Carlo, the red one and Addis Ababa, the pink one. They are gorgeous colors! Not as opaque as i would like, but definitely not translucent..kind of in between.

Overall, I would definitely highly recommend both brands and colors!

Lime Crime Red Velvet Velvetine Lip Gloss- $20
NYX Monte Carlo & Addis Ababa- $6.00 each.

just a small post- Christmas haul

SO, I went to Kohl's today for some post-Christmas shopping. I got these amazing finds in the 60% off rack (minus the gold cuff bracelet)! The very first thing I grabbed was the black velvet leggings. I've been dying for a pair! They are absolutely perfect for winter fashion! The shirt I love because it has a beautifully fascinating flowery zigzag design. The patterned leggings caught my eye because it wasn't an overly obnoxious pattern that draws too much attention to them. And the gold cuff I love because it has a cool pattern and it's gold, can't go wrong there. So happy.
Shirt- $8.40
Patterned Leggings- $12.50
Black Velvet Leggings- $10.50
Gold Cuff Bracelet- $16.00     All from Kohl's!
